TLDR Kasisa Bhasma is safer and nontoxic compared to Shodhita Kasisa.
The study on Kasisa, an iron-containing Ayurvedic drug, used 32 Charles Foster albino rats to assess its toxicity in purified (Shodhita Kasisa) and bhasma forms. It found that Kasisa bhasma was safer, causing minimal pathological changes even at higher doses, whereas Shodhita Kasisa led to significant organ damage at lower doses. The research concluded that Kasisa bhasma was a safer alternative and suggested further clinical trials to verify its safety and effectiveness in humans, particularly for treating anemia in women.
