TLDR Topical minoxidil does not increase skin blood flow.
The study investigated the effect of topical minoxidil on skin blood flow using Laser Doppler Flowmetry in 9 healthy males with androgenetic alopecia and additional volunteers. The results showed that there was no change in cutaneous blood flow following the application of 2%, 5%, or placebo minoxidil lotion.
Both 5% minoxidil solution and milky lotion effectively and safely treat male hair loss, with the lotion being a good alternative for those sensitive to certain ingredients.
