TLDR Topical minoxidil not effective for erectile dysfunction treatment.
The study investigated the use of topical minoxidil in treating male erectile dysfunction. The study involved 20 patients who were interviewed to determine the outcome of treatment. Only one patient with Peyronie's disease initially obtained an erection sufficiently rigid for intercourse after topical minoxidil. However, subsequent attempts at intercourse without minoxidil were successful, and he is no longer on the drug. One patient with psychogenic impotence claimed to have a greater duration of a soft erection, but he did not experience any increase in diameter or rigidity. The remaining 19 patients did not achieve any erections after multiple applications of topical minoxidil. The study concluded that a 2% minoxidil solution is not of benefit as a facilitator of erections in impotent patients.
