TLDR Linum usitatissimum gel improves wound healing and tissue regeneration.
The study investigated the effects of topical Linum usitatissimum (LU) on wound healing in 48 male rats. The rats were divided into four groups, with two groups receiving 5% and 10% LU gel treatments. The results showed that LU-treated groups had significantly higher wound closure rates, collagen synthesis, vascularization, and hair follicle density compared to the control group. There was no significant difference between the 5% and 10% LU treatments. The study concluded that LU has the potential to enhance wound healing and tissue regeneration, but further research, especially clinical trials, was recommended to explore its efficacy and potential combinations with other healing agents.
