TLDR Dividing hair grafts may make hair look fuller, but more research is needed.
The study investigated the impact of dividing follicular units (FUs) into smaller grafts on hair transplant outcomes using a single Caucasian male with Norwood class IVa baldness. One half of the donor strip was used to create 1,002 intact FUs, while the other half was divided into 1,404 smaller grafts. After 5 months, there was no significant difference in hair coverage between the two methods, although the side with divided grafts appeared fuller upon close inspection. The study concluded that further research was necessary to determine the best approach, as the results were based on a single case and early observations.
