This study reports a rare case of tinea capitis in a 2-month-old infant caused by Microsporum ferrugineum, presenting with alopecic plaques and bamboo-like hairs. Diagnosis was confirmed using Wood's lamp examination, trichoscopy, potassium hydroxide preparation, and fungal culture. Treatment with oral griseofulvin and topical ketoconazole resulted in significant improvement by Week 6. The case underscores the importance of comprehensive diagnostics for accurate identification and supports griseofulvin as an effective first-line treatment for ectothrix infections in infants.
