TLDR Thymosin β4 helps heal corneal wounds.
Thymosin β4 was found to aid in the healing and remodeling of wound tissues, including the regeneration of blood capillaries post-myocardial infarction and the proliferation of hair follicle stem cells. It also played a role in the development, migration, and re-epithelialization of the corneal epithelium, as well as in regulating inflammation after wounding. The mechanisms by which thymosin β4 promoted corneal wound healing were gradually being uncovered, as reviewed in recent studies.
