TLDR Skin symptoms can be a sign of COVID-19 and may worsen with stress.
This review article examines the common skin symptoms associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection, highlighting that skin lesions can serve as prognostic markers or even the sole symptom of the virus. It synthesizes findings from 142 studies, noting that stress from the COVID-19 pandemic can worsen chronic skin conditions. The review identifies correlations between skin lesions and factors such as age, ethnic origin, and medications used for COVID-19 treatment. The authors emphasize the need for further research to understand the pathophysiology of these cutaneous manifestations to improve disease management and treatment.
