TLDR Skin rashes can help diagnose COVID-19 early.
This review, based on 60 articles, examined the various skin manifestations associated with COVID-19, which were categorized into inflammatory reactions and vascular-origin lesions. The inflammatory reactions included maculopapular, urticarial, and vesicular rashes, while vascular-origin lesions encompassed chilblain-like rashes, petechiae/purpura, and livedo acemose-like patterns. The study highlighted the potential role of dermatologists in identifying these skin lesions, which could aid in the early diagnosis of COVID-19, especially in cases with few symptoms, potentially improving patient outcomes.
