TLDR The study aims to understand how mood, physical activity, light exposure, and seasonal changes affect sleep patterns.
The EcoSleep Project is a longitudinal cohort study involving 12 healthy adults aged 18-35, designed to assess the relationship between various sleep determinants and sleep outcomes under real-world conditions over a year. Participants will undergo monthly intensive data collection bursts, including continuous actimetry, light logging, EEG recordings, and ecological momentary assessments. The study aims to understand how factors like mood, physical activity, light exposure, and seasonal changes influence sleep patterns. Despite its novel high-resolution, intra-individual data collection methods, the study's lack of experimental manipulation limits causal inferences.
