Systemic Therapy Associates With a Lower Incidence of Male Infertility Among Psoriasis Patients

A large population-based retrospective cohort study using data from the TriNetX Global Collaborative Network examined the association between systemic therapy and male infertility in psoriasis patients. The study included 26,907 psoriasis patients managed with systemic therapy and 95,305 without, with propensity score matching resulting in cohorts of 26,165 patients each. Over a 20-year period, those receiving systemic therapy were 45% less likely to be diagnosed with male infertility compared to those not receiving systemic therapy (26 vs 47 cases, OR 0.55; 95% CIs: 0.34-0.89). This suggests that systemic therapy may reduce the risk of infertility in male psoriasis patients.
