This study investigated the relationship between sympathetic innervation and alopecia. The research involved 49 cases, including 20 cadavers from the Anatomy Laboratory, 14 cadavers from the Forensic Medicine Laboratory at the Medical School of Athens, and 15 clinical patient cases. Tissue samples from patients were placed in a 10% formalin solution and analyzed using direct immunofluorescence. Additionally, indirect immunofluorescence with anti-immunoglobulin linked to 5-fluorescein was used to highlight sympathetic nerve endings. The study aimed to explore the anatomical correlation of the sympathetic system in the pathogenesis of scalp alopecia.
