TLDR A calcified nodule on a boy's face came from hair follicles and expelled calcium through the skin.
A subepidermal calcified nodule was reported in a 15-year-old Negro boy, with histological examination indicating its origin in both mature and immature hair follicles. This finding was significant as previous reports suggested that such nodules might arise in nevi or sweat glands. An additional observation in this case was the transepidermal elimination of calcium.
