TLDR There is no link between hair loss and prostate enlargement.
The study conducted at a tertiary care hospital aimed to analyze the association between androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in male patients aged 25-45 years. Over the course of one year, 64 patients with AGA were evaluated using the Modified Hamilton-Norwood Classification, transabdominal ultrasonogram, and serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level estimation. The results showed that 39.1% of patients had Grade III AGA, 32.8% had Grade IV, 25% had Grade V, and 3.1% had Grade VI. Despite observing an increase in prostate volume among AGA patients, the study concluded that there was no association between AGA, prostate volume, and serum PSA levels.
