TLDR The hair tonic with cinnamon oil and coconut oil was stable and caused very mild irritation.
The study investigated the physical stability and potential irritation effects of hair tonic preparations containing cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) essential oil and VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) at concentrations of 1% (F1), 3% (F2), and 5% (F3). Physical characteristics such as organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, density, and viscosity were evaluated, with stability assessed using the cycling test method. Statistical analysis was performed using One Way Anova. The irritation test on rabbits measured erythema and edema to calculate a primary irritation index. The results indicated that F1 was cloudy and homogeneous, while F2 and F3 were clear and stable in terms of pH, density, and viscosity. The irritation test revealed primary irritation indices of 0.0 for F1, and 0.3 for both F2 and F3, suggesting that F2 and F3 may cause very mild irritation.
