TLDR New method effectively analyzes finasteride and its stability.
This document describes the development and validation of a stability-indicating method for analyzing finasteride using high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC). The method involves preparing a standard stock solution of finasteride, selecting a mobile phase of chloroform:methanol, and running the TLC plate for 70 mm. The calibration curve, precision, robustness, limit of detection and quantitation, specificity, recovery studies, and analysis of finasteride in a tablet formulation are also discussed. Forced degradation studies of finasteride were conducted under various stress conditions, and the results are presented in a table. Overall, the method was found to be suitable for analyzing finasteride and determining its stability under different conditions.
