TLDR High levels of ST14 and TMEFF1 proteins in ovarian cancer are linked to worse patient outcomes and may be a new treatment target.
This study analyzed 130 ovarian cancer tissues and found that ST14 and TMEFF1 are highly expressed and interact with each other, correlating with higher tumor malignancy and worse prognosis. Knockdown of ST14 reduced TMEFF1 expression and inhibited cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, which were reversed by adding exogenous TMEFF1. The study suggests that the ST14-TMEFF1 interaction could be a potential target for anti-cancer therapy, highlighting their roles as potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for ovarian cancer.
