TLDR Sorafenib and Platycladus orientalis leaf extract together effectively suppress cervical cancer cell growth.
The study investigates the synergistic effect of sorafenib and Platycladus orientalis (L) leaf extract on cervical cancer cells, specifically HeLa cells. The combination treatment demonstrated enhanced anti-cancer effects, with increased expression of the tumor suppressor gene TIG3 and decreased expression of the apoptosis modulator gene Bcl-2 and the proliferating cell nuclear antigen gene PCNA. This combination also inhibited MAPKP activation and induced apoptosis in cervical cancer cells. The findings suggest that the combination of sorafenib and Platycladus orientalis (L) leaf extract could effectively suppress cervical cancer cell growth, warranting further clinical trials and in-vivo studies.
