Superficial Skin Infection with Scopulariopsis Brevicaulis in Two Goats: A Case Report

    TLDR A goat's skin infection was cured with itraconazole and D-biotin.
    This study described a case of hair loss and skin changes in a dead goat and a sick kid due to Scopulariopsis brevicaulis infection. Macroscopic examination revealed hair loss and skin lesions, while microscopic analysis showed arthrospores in hair and skin samples. No parasites were found in parasitological examinations. Scopulariopsis brevicaulis was isolated from the samples. The infection in the kid was successfully treated with itraconazole (100 mg/kg daily for 6 weeks) and D-biotin (0.1 mg/kg i.m. twice at a 1-week interval).
