    The concept of skin extension, introduced by Patrick Frechet in the early 1990s, was an evolution of skin expansion aimed at maintaining its benefits while reducing negative side effects. It was primarily indicated for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) at the vertex in patients with stabilized baldness and could complement autografting in cases of extensive baldness.
