TLDR Skin diseases can greatly affect daily life and require careful treatment and medication review.
Skin diseases can significantly impact quality of life, causing symptoms like itch, rash, and hair loss, which may lead to sleep disturbances, psychosocial issues, and impaired daily activities. Accurate assessment of these impacts is crucial for treatment decisions. Drug rashes are common, necessitating a thorough review of all medications, including over-the-counter and herbal remedies. Endocrine evaluations are important for conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome or Cushing's syndrome. Treatment options include high-dose prednisolone and alternatives like cyclophosphamide, rituximab, and IVIG. Pseudomonas infections can cause severe complications, particularly in immunocompromised individuals, often affecting the groins and feet.
