TLDR The hydrogel effectively heals infected wounds and kills bacteria.
This study developed a silk fibroin-gelatin photo-crosslinked 3D-bioprinted hydrogel incorporating methylene blue-loaded UiO-66(Ce) nanoparticles for infected wound healing. The hydrogel demonstrated enhanced mechanical properties, good biocompatibility, and promoted fibroblast migration and proliferation. The photodynamic therapy effect of the nanoparticles provided excellent antibacterial action, which increased with higher concentrations. In vivo experiments on mice showed that the hydrogel effectively filled skin defects and accelerated healing, suggesting its potential as a novel 3D bioprinted wound dressing with antibacterial and tissue healing-promoting capabilities.
