TLDR Early diagnosis and aggressive treatment of lupus nephritis can prevent kidney damage and improve outcomes.
This case report discusses a 32-year-old female with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) who developed lupus nephritis, a severe kidney complication. She presented with symptoms including skin rashes, hair loss, and joint pain, progressing to edema and proteinuria. Laboratory tests confirmed membranous lupus nephritis. Treatment with high-dose corticosteroids and cyclophosphamide led to significant improvement, reducing proteinuria and resolving edema. The report underscores the importance of early diagnosis and aggressive treatment to prevent irreversible kidney damage and improve patient outcomes, emphasizing the need for regular follow-up to maintain disease control and prevent relapses.
