Effectiveness and Stability Test of Shallot Extract (Allium Cepa L.) Hair Tonic as a Hair Growth Stimulant

The study investigates the effectiveness and stability of a hair tonic made from shallot extract (Allium cepa L.) as a hair growth stimulant. The research utilized experimental methods, including effectiveness testing with Tanaka and accelerated stability testing. Results from the effectiveness test on the 21st day showed that the F2 formulation had similar hair growth stimulation as the positive control, with values of 16.5 and 17.2, respectively. The stability tests indicated that the F2 formulation maintained a stable pH range of 5.73-6.82, density between 0.990-1.031, and retained its brown color, liquid form, and aromatic smell over 28 weeks. The study concludes that the F2 formulation is both effective and stable as a hair growth tonic.
