TLDR Vaginal surgeries generally did not significantly change women's sexual quality of life.
The study evaluated the impact of vaginal surgical interventions for genital prolapse or urinary incontinence on the sexual quality of life in 40 women. Six months post-surgery, 42.5% reported improved sexual life, while 22.5% experienced decreased libido, and 35% noted no change. Although vaginal dryness increased, vaginal pain decreased, and 72.5% of women and 87.5% of their partners reported sexual pleasure post-surgery. The study concluded that these interventions did not significantly alter sexual quality of life in the short term, emphasizing the importance of discussing potential outcomes with patients.
