TLDR Selenium increased in hair but not in blood after taking supplements.
The study measured selenium levels in whole blood and new growth hair of 8 subjects before and after taking a selenium-enriched yeast supplement (100 mcg/day) for 6 weeks. The results showed a significant increase (p<0.01) in the mean selenium content in hair, while there was no significant change in whole blood selenium levels. Additionally, no significant correlation was found between selenium levels in hair and whole blood.
