TLDR Prolonged linseed ingestion is safe for rabbits.
The study assessed the safety of prolonged linseed ingestion in New Zealand rabbits over three months. Two groups of rabbits were used: a test group that received 3g of ground linseed daily and a control group with no additives. The results showed no significant weight gain in the test group, and while there were changes in biochemical parameters such as decreased glycemia and cholesterolemia, there were no alterations in serum hepatic and renal marker enzymes. Histological analysis of liver and kidney biopsies revealed normal histology without any detectable anomalies. The study concluded that prolonged linseed ingestion in rabbits was safe.
