TLDR Flaxseed hair gel is effective for hair growth and dandruff, is stable, and has minimal side effects.
The study formulated and evaluated a herbal hair gel using flaxseed and aloe vera to promote hair growth and combat dandruff. Five different gel formulations were assessed for characteristics like color, scent, texture, pH, viscosity, spreadability, and antifungal activity. The F4 formulation showed long-term stability and maintained antifungal efficacy. The optimal formulation contained 1.5g of carbopol 934, providing a uniform and stable gel with a pH range of 6.7 to 7.3, compatible with hair. The findings suggest that the flaxseed hair gel is effective in managing hair loss and dandruff, is cost-effective, easy to handle, and has minimal side effects, warranting further pharmacological studies.
