Safety and Efficacy of the Coadministration of Sildenafil and Finasteride

    The study investigated the safety and efficacy of coadministering finasteride and sildenafil in 218 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The mean age of participants was 62.63 years, and they were treated for an average of 18.23 weeks. Results showed no significant changes in vital signs, but there was a notable improvement in lower urinary tract symptoms (IPSS score improved from 17.56 to 11.64) and sexual function (IIEF-5 score improved from 9.44 to 12.73), both with p<0.001. The study concluded that the daily coadministration of these drugs could be used safely and effectively to improve both urinary symptoms and sexual function in BPH patients.
