TLDR S-equol supplements significantly reduced menopausal symptoms in most women.
The sampling trial assessed the impact of a 12-week S-equol supplementation on menopausal symptoms in perimenopausal and menopausal women. Participants (n = 247) took 10 mg of S-equol daily and reported on symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep disturbances. After 12 weeks, 90% of women noted improvements in one or more symptoms, with 82%, 71%, and 40% reporting improvements in hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep disturbances, respectively. The study concluded that S-equol supplementation significantly alleviated common menopausal symptoms, with over 90% of reported changes being improvements. The study was funded by Pharmavite LLC.
