Investigation of Rosemary Herbal Extracts (Rosmarinus Officinalis) and Their Potential Effects on Immunity

    Hiwa M. Ahmed, Muhammed Babakir‐Mina
TLDR Rosemary extract may boost the immune system, but more research on humans is needed to confirm this.
The review investigated the potential immunomodulatory effects of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) extracts. While in vitro and animal studies indicated that rosemary and its active compounds could stimulate the immune system, there was a lack of human studies to support these findings. The authors concluded that rosemary has potential as a dietary ingredient with immunomodulatory properties, but emphasized the need for human studies, ideally through double-blind randomized controlled trials, to confirm these effects.
