TLDR Dutasteride, fesoterodine, and finasteride help older patients with urinary issues.
The study evaluated the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of drugs for long-term treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in patients over 65 years old. The study found that dutasteride, fesoterodine, and finasteride were beneficial for long-term treatment of LUTS in older patients. None of the drugs achieved FORTA classification A, 3 were classified as FORTA B, 8 were classified as FORTA C, and 3 were classified as FORTA D. The study suggests that the FORTA classification system can offer relatively quick crowd-sourced assessments when formal tools fail. The credibility of these conclusions depends on trust in this approach.
