    The review article discussed the cultural and social importance of wigs, particularly for patients with hair loss, and their role in minimizing psychological consequences, reducing stigmatization, and improving quality of life. It aimed to provide physicians with comprehensive information on synthetic and nonsynthetic custom-made hair systems, including different hair fibers, foundations, types of prostheses, and attachment methods. The literature search was conducted using specific terms related to wigs and alopecia, focusing on nonsurgical alternatives. The article intended to equip physicians with the knowledge to recommend appropriate wigs and hairpieces to their patients.
