Rapid Intravenous Administration of Corticotropin as a Test of Adrenocortical Insufficiency

This case report describes a challenging diagnosis of Cushing’s syndrome using endocrine tests and imaging, which ultimately identified an adrenal etiology. Successful treatment involved a non-invasive desmopressin stimulation test and right adrenalectomy, leading to improvement in symptoms and health outcomes for the patient.

A young man with an eating disorder had a life-threatening adrenal crisis due to an autoimmune condition, highlighting the need for better education on managing hormone treatments.
