    The review explored curcumin's dual role as a radiosensitizer and radioprotector in cancer treatment, particularly in glioblastoma and other cancers. Curcumin enhanced cancer cell sensitivity to radiation and protected normal cells from radiation damage by modulating cellular pathways like NF-κB and TGF-β. It showed promise in reducing radiation dermatitis and oral mucositis in cancer patients, with some studies involving hundreds of participants. Despite challenges with bioavailability, encapsulation in nanoparticles improved its effectiveness. Overall, curcumin demonstrated potential to improve the efficacy and safety of radiotherapy, though further clinical trials were needed to fully understand its mechanisms.
