TLDR Timely diagnosis and treatment improved a goat's skin condition.
A 3-year-old Beetal goat with severe pruritus and alopecic skin lesions was diagnosed with concurrent psoroptic mange and malasseziosis. The diagnosis was confirmed through skin scrapings and impression smears, revealing Psoroptes mites and Malassezia organisms. Treatment included Ivermectin, oxytetracycline, chlorpheniramine, multivitamins, and topical applications, leading to significant improvement and new hair growth after 4 weeks. The study emphasizes the importance of awareness and resources for timely diagnosis and treatment in rural areas.
