TLDR A 34-year-old woman had itchy black bumps on her face due to a condition called trichostasis spinulosa.
A 34-year-old woman had a 10-year history of pruritic black papules on her face, with numerous open comedolike lesions on the glabella, nose, cheeks, and chin. These lesions contained tufts of hairs and were diagnosed as trichostasis spinulosa, a common but underrecognized condition characterized by follicular keratotic plugs with embedded vellus hairs. This condition can affect all age groups and both sexes, often developing in elderly individuals with long-term sun damage.
