Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment for hair loss involved using a concentration of human platelets in a small volume of plasma, which contained growth factors that recruited stem cells to differentiate into cells of the treated tissue. This autologous treatment accelerated normal healing pathways. Although PRP had been known in medicine since 1954, its application in aesthetic dermatology had gained significant attention in recent years. Tzachi Shelkovitz presented his experience of treating over 150 patients with more than 250 treatments over the past 3-5 years, with follow-up periods exceeding 2.5 years, demonstrating the potential effectiveness of PRP in hair loss treatment.
