TLDR Monascus helps prevent baldness, prostate issues, and may be a natural alternative to medications.
The study investigated the preventive effects of Monascus on androgen-related diseases such as androgenetic alopecia, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and prostate cancer. The results showed that Monascus had a suppressive effect on baldness in male mice and reduced the thickness of epithelial cell layers and prostate weight. Additionally, Monascus treatment decreased PSA levels, indicating protective effects against BPH. The study suggests that Monascus could be a natural product alternative to medications with side effects used to treat androgen-related disorders.
