In a retrospective cross-sectional study at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Kadapa, India, 8,545 new patients were evaluated for skin problems over the course of a year. The patients, ranging from 1 to 99 years old, presented with a total of 9,416 skin conditions. The study found that the most common skin diseases were contact dermatitis (11.7%), scabies (8.9%), fungal infections (8.9%), urticaria (6.0%), and acne (4.4%). The research suggested the need for public health policies to address these prevalent skin diseases and emphasized the importance of public awareness about personal hygiene and healthy living to reduce the incidence of these conditions, particularly in rural and developing areas.
