    TLDR Recognizing and treating pregnancy-related skin conditions is important to reduce health risks for mothers and babies.
    The study focused on dermatoses specifically associated with pregnancy and the postpartum period, highlighting the importance of recognizing and treating these conditions to reduce maternal and fetal morbidity. The most common pregnancy-related dermatosis was polymorphic eruption of pregnancy, affecting 22% of patients. Other conditions included prurigo of pregnancy (7%), pemphigoid gestationis (3%), pruritic folliculitis of pregnancy (2%), and intrahepatic cholestasis (1%). The majority of skin disorders occurred in the third trimester (60%), followed by the second (31%) and first trimesters (9%).
