Difference of Post COVID Health Complications Among Infection and Reinfection Patients: A Comparative Study

This study, conducted at Dhaka Community Medical College Hospital with 244 patients, compared post-COVID health complications between those with initial infections and those with reinfections. It found that reinfection patients experienced higher rates of complications, such as pain (15%) and weakness (37%), compared to infection patients, who reported weakness at 33%. Mental health issues like anxiety were more prevalent in infection patients (30%) than in reinfection patients (19%), while depression was more common in infection cases (12%) than reinfection cases (7%). Factors such as gender, marital status, living conditions, and smoking habits were significantly associated with the differences in post-COVID complications between the two groups.
