TLDR Older adults in Vietnam often experience hair loss after COVID-19, especially women, singles, and those hospitalized.
This study investigated the prevalence and associated factors of post-COVID-19 hair loss among 547 older adults (mean age 68.5 years) in Vietnam. It found that 11.5% of participants experienced diffuse hair loss. Factors significantly associated with hair loss included being female (OR 3.36), being single or divorced (OR 3.27), and having a history of COVID-19-related hospitalization (OR 5.17). The study highlights a substantial burden of post-COVID-19 hair loss in older adults, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions in this population.
