TLDR The polyherbal emulgel created for hair care was safe, had good qualities, and could lead to future hair care products.
In 2019, researchers developed a polyherbal emulgel for hair care using extracts from Phyllanthus emblica, Centella asiatica, Cucurbita pepo, and Wedelia calendulacea, with Carbopol 934 as a gelling agent. The emulgel was evaluated for spreadability, viscosity, pH, and irritancy, and was found to have desirable characteristics, a skin-compatible pH between 6.34 and 7.19, and no irritancy. The study concluded that the emulgel was safe and potentially effective, indicating the possibility for future development of medicated emulgels for hair care.
