    This Cross-Meta-Analysis investigates the biorefining of Policosanol, a compound with antihypercholesterolemic properties, by analyzing articles and patents from 18 Ibero-American countries. The study highlights the advancements in Cuba, Spain, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Portugal, emphasizing the need for better academic-industrial collaboration. It evaluates six main biorefining routes using 16 raw materials, such as lacquer wax and sugar cane wax, categorizing yields into high, moderate, and low. The findings provide guidance for future research and industrial applications, aligning with global bioeconomy trends and cardiovascular disease prevention strategies.
