TLDR UVF-dermoscopy is a useful tool for accurately diagnosing types of alopecia, especially in people with lighter skin.
The study investigates the diagnostic accuracy of polarized and ultraviolet fluorescence-induced dermoscopy in distinguishing between scarring and nonscarring alopecias. It concludes that UVF-dermoscopy can be a valuable and reliable complementary tool for this purpose, particularly in individuals with light phototypes. This suggests that incorporating UVF-dermoscopy into clinical practice could enhance the accuracy of alopecia diagnosis.
