TLDR The Pomeranian recovered well after treatment for pneumonia and demodecosis.
A 1.5-year-old Pomeranian named Beb, weighing 3.4 kg, presented with respiratory and skin issues, including coughing, yellowish nasal discharge, and alopecia. Diagnostic tests revealed pneumonia and demodecosis, with radiopaque lung spots, Demodex canis mites, and blood abnormalities. Treatment included amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, ivermectin, diphenhydramine HCl, Livron B-Plex®, fish oil, and sulfur soap baths. After 2 weeks, Beb showed significant improvement with no nasal discharge, coughing, or nausea, and new hair growth. Owners were advised on improved care practices to aid recovery.
