TLDR Plant extracts may help treat hormone-related hair loss.
This article discusses the potential use of plant extracts in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia, a type of hair loss caused by hormonal and genetic factors. The article suggests that plant extracts can be used as inhibitors of 5α-reductase, antagonists of androgen receptors, or stimulants of cell proliferation to promote hair growth. The article cites several studies that have investigated the hair growth-promoting effects of various plant extracts, including Asiasari radix, Illicium anisatum, Eclipta alba, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Ginseng radix, Puerariae flos, Ecklonia cava, and Rosmarinus officinalis. However, clinical studies are needed to confirm these results and to determine the effectiveness of these extracts in treating hair loss in humans.
