Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum), commonly known as Methi, was traditionally used in medicine for its diverse pharmacological properties, including antimicrobial, wound healing, antifungal, anti-diarrheal, hypoglycemic, hepatoprotective, antioxidant, antihelmintic, anti-diabetic, and anti-inflammatory activities. It was also utilized in the treatment of smallpox and hair loss. The seeds contained two alkaloids, choline and trigonelline, four flavonoids (two glycosides and two aglycones), and two steroidal saponins.
