TLDR Curry leaves can be used to make effective herbal hair oil for promoting hair growth.
The study investigates the potential of Murraya koenigii (curry leaves) in combination with Hibiscus rosasinensis and Lawsonia inermis for creating an effective herbal hair oil formulation aimed at promoting hair growth. The research involved various evaluations such as physical appearance, pH, viscosity, and saponification value, alongside qualitative chemical analysis to identify key plant ingredients like sulphur, ascorbic acid, and saponins. The findings indicate that the herbal hair oil maintains good pH, acceptable viscosity, and stability at room temperature, suggesting its potential as a favorable option for future hair care formulations. Additionally, the study found that a 1:1 ratio of oil-roasted fresh curry leaves and spice mix with 10% salt was optimal for preparing curry leaf paste, with sensory evaluations showing stable quality over a 7-day storage period.
